SUMMARY:I Wish I Had Known
DESCRIPTION:CIE’s “I Wish I Had Known” program is a student panel series that provides you opportunities to hear directly from your upper-year peers on specific topics related to the international student experience. From sharing what they wish they had done differently during their first year to how they learned to cope with homesickness and build confidence in navigating new environments\, this is your chance to learn from their experiences\, pick up new ideas and suggestions\, and ask questions. \nOur winter event\, Navigating Work Study as an International Student\, in collaboration with the Work Study Program\, brings together international students who have participated/are interested in participating in Work Study and experienced supervisors who have supported their journeys. Through their stories and insights\, you’ll gain a better understanding of: \n\nThe benefits and challenges of being an international student in Work Study roles.\n\n\nTips for navigating the application process and building confidence in a new work environment.\n\n\nStrategies supervisors use to create inclusive and supportive workplaces for international students.\n\nFollowing the panel discussion\, stay for a guided networking session where you’ll connect with fellow international students\, experienced Work Study participants\, and supportive supervisors. Ask questions\, share experiences\, and build connections to help you succeed in your Work Study journey. \nThis is a great opportunity to explore how Work Study can align with your academic and professional goals\, while also learning how to navigate the unique opportunities and challenges as an international student.
