As you near the end of your studies, it’s good to prepare for your next steps. Whether you decide to go back to your home country, stay in Canada or launch your global career, you can find what you need here.

Explore Further Education

The Centre for Career Exploration and Education will assist you in defining your next academic move.

If you wish to explore graduate opportunities at U of T, the School of Graduate Studies delivers Information Sessions dedicated to international students.

You can use the Universities Canada database to search for graduate programs in Canada.

Transcripts

If you decide to apply for Grad School, you will need your official transcripts.

Study Permit

Extend your study permit for continued studies. 

Work PermiT

Find out about eligibility and how to apply for a post-graduation work permit

Visitor Record

If you will not be studying or working, you may need to extend your status in Canada with a visitor record

Permanent Residency

The Centre for International Experience invites staff from IRCC to offer information sessions on Permanent Residency. Check the calendar on CLNx for upcoming dates or visit our website for more info on information sessions and recordings.

You will need to consult resources available on the IRCC website.

Social Insurance Number

If you are applying for a post-graduation work permit or extending your study permit, you will need to renew your SIN.

File Income Taxes

Have you filed your income taxes? It may not be required for you, but there may be benefits for doing so.

Health insurance

Upon graduation you will be eligible to extend your UHIP coverage for a few months. Learn more here.

Transcripts

Get your official transcripts from the U of T Transcript Centre.

Proof of Completion of Studies

You may need proof that you have completed your program of study to apply for your Post-Graduation Work Permit. You can request this document from your Registrar’s Office.
