International Student Fraud Prevention: upcoming webinar

Moving to a new country to study is exciting and for some of you, it is
the first time you are away from your family. This can be stressful as
you prepare to live and study in an unfamiliar environment.

It is therefore important for you to learn how to recognize and protect
yourself from fraud. Do you know who to call and what to do if you or your
friends become a victim?

Presenters and Their Topics:
1) The Canadian Border Services Agency will show you the common immigration fraud
schemes.
2) The Royal Canadian Mounted Police’s Federal Policing Prevention and Engagement will
discuss the top frauds international students should be aware of and how criminals are
reaching out to victims.
3) The Bank of Canada will help you understand Canadian currency and what security
features it holds, so you don’t get stuck with counterfeit banknotes.
