SIN Clinic

Sep 16 2026 @ 9:30 AM - 3:00 PM

A Social Insurance Number (SIN) is a 9-digit number that you need in order to work in Canada or to have access to government programs and benefits. If you are an international student and you are planning on working in Canada or filing income taxes, you will need a SIN. The Centre for International Experience is partnering up with Service Canada to host two SIN Clinics at the St. George Campus, allowing students to register to get their SIN issued on the spot.

Clinic Dates and Times:

  • September 15: 9:30 AM – 3:45 PM (last appointment at 3:35 PM)
  • September 16: 9:30 AM – 3:05 PM (last appointment at 2:55 PM)

Appointments are scheduled in 10-minute time slots and must be booked in advance. While walk-ins may be accommodated depending on availability, we strongly recommend reserving a spot ahead of time.

Required Documents: You must bring the following original documents to the clinic:

  1. An original valid primary identity document that proves your identity and your legal status in Canada, such as: A work permit; or A study permit, which indicates the permit holder “may accept employment” or “may work in Canada, issued by IRCC.
  2. An original valid secondary document to confirm your identity, such as: A passport (foreign or Canadian) or a provincial or territorial identification issued by a Canadian Government (federal, provincial or territorial).
