Accelerated Global Fluency Workshops
Oct 30 2025 @ 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM
The Centre for International Experience (CIE) and Hart House are collaborating to offer this interactive workshop as part of the Global Citizen Program.
Want to complete the Global Fluency step of the Global Citizen program in just one day? Join us for this accelerated workshop that combines Building a Global Mindset and Developing Intercultural Fluency Through Story Circles into one engaging experience.
In the morning, we will explore how cultural mindsets shape the way we understand the world. You will reflect on how culture, identity, and perspective influence the way we see issues locally and globally, uncover their cultural significance, and consider the values that shape them. Together, we will develop strategies to engage global perspectives by building self-awareness, shifting perspectives, and cultivating empathy. By the end of this session, you will walk away with practical tools to approach challenges with curiosity and openness, and to succeed in diverse environments both on campus and beyond.
In the afternoon, you will dive into Story Circles, a hands-on way to connect across cultures. You will share experiences, listen deeply to different perspectives, and enhance your intercultural competencies by demonstrating respect for others, cultivating curiosity about similarities and differences, and reflecting critically on your own intercultural skills. This session will strengthen your self-awareness, build empathy, and give you greater confidence in navigating diverse environments.
