Developing Intercultural Fluency Through UNESCO Story Circles

Oct 17 2025 @ 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

The Centre for International Experience (CIE) and Hart House are collaborating to offer this interactive workshop as part of the Global Citizen Program.

Join us for the second part of the Global Fluency Workshop.

Story Circles are an engaging way to connect with others across cultures. In this interactive session, you will share experiences and practice listening deeply to perspectives that differ from your own.

You will enhance your intercultural competencies by showing respect for others, cultivating curiosity about similarities and differences, and practicing listening for understanding. You’ll also increase your cultural self-awareness, reflect critically on your intercultural skills, and build empathy to strengthen your relationships.

By the end of the workshop, you will have sharpened your intercultural communication skills and gained confidence in navigating diverse environments, both on campus and beyond.

Why you should join:

  • Counts toward your 40-hour engagement requirement in the Global Citizen program
  • Provides practical tools and insights you can apply on campus and in your career
  • Helps you work toward earning your Global Citizen notation on your Co-Curricular Record (CCR)
  • Light refreshments will be provided
