Indigenous Learning Experiences

The Indigenous Learning Experiences program provides students with a welcoming space to learn about the histories, cultures, and issues facing Indigenous peoples in Canada. Through field trips and meaningful dialogue, participants will gain a deeper understanding of Indigenous perspectives and their vital place in Canadian society. 

This experiential program includes: 

  • A Welcome Dinner and sharing circle to discuss local and global issues of colonization 
  • A guided Indigenous art tour at the Art Gallery of Ontario, free of cost to participants 
  • A powerful talk on Barriers to Reconciliation by John Croutch from Indigenous Initiatives 
  • Participation in an Indigenous healing circle and guided reflection on the significance of harvest season at the Hart House Farms Wellness Retreat 
  • A field trip to tour the Ziibiing project on campus 

You will obtain a Certificate of Completion upon attending at least 3 of 5 sessions in this program.
