International Conversation with…

Sep 25 2024 @ 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM

In recognition of the National Day for Truth & Reconciliation, join us for an inspiring conversation with award-winning Anishinaabe artist and fashion designer Lesley Hampton (HBA 2015 UTM). A member of the Temagami First Nation, Lesley will share her life and career experiences through the lens of her Indigenous heritage.
You’ll hear about how Lesley navigated her international upbringing that shaped her into the trailblazing force that she is today in the fashion world. You’ll learn about her journey of reconnecting to her Indigenous roots, and how she weaves that Indigeneity with a message of inclusivity into her work as a fashion designer, that has seen her mentioned in the likes of Vogue magazine and Forbes 30 under 30 local. She has also dressed award-winning actress Lily Gladstone, styled campaigns for the Toronto Raptors and so much more!
Refreshments will be provided to those in attendance.
