Social Insurance Number (SIN) Clinics
Jan 23 2025 @ 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM
A Social Insurance Number (SIN) is a 9-digit number that you need in order to work in Canada or to have access to government programs and benefits. If you are an international student and you are planning on working in Canada or filing income taxes, then you will need a SIN. The Centre for International Experience is partnering up with Service Canada to host a series of SIN Clinics at the St. George Campus, allowing students to register to get their SIN issued on the spot.
- The clinic will be open from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM on January 16 and 23 (the last appointment slot is at 3:45pm).
- The daily schedule consists of 10 minutes time slots, which require advance registration and booking (no walk-ins available)
- You must bring the following documents with you to the Clinic:
- An original valid primary identity document that proves your identity and your legal status in Canada, such as: A work permit; or A study permit, which indicates the permit holder “may accept employment” or “may work in Canada, issued by IRCC.
- An original valid secondary document to confirm your identity, such as: A passport (foreign or Canadian) or a provincial or territorial identification issued by a Canadian Government (federal, provincial or territorial).
