PGWP applications at the border no longer allowed
On Friday, June 21, 2024, the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, announced that Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) applications can no longer be processed at a Canadian port-of-entry. This means all PGWP applications must now be submitted online.
Most students are able to begin working as soon as their PGWP application is submitted, so we hope that the online process will not be a major inconvenience. Students that need urgent processing can look at the related Frequently Asked Question (FAQ) on the PGWP page of our site.

The topics include off-campus work hours, how taking online courses can affect PGWP eligibility, and an increase to the minimum amount of funds you must show for a study permit application.
Updates have also been added on the relevant pages of the immigration advising section of the website.
