Supplementary Health Plan
UHIP covers most of the basic health care expenses, like OHIP. However, in both UHIP and OHIP, some medical services are excluded, such as prescription drugs, dental care and routine eye exam.
You will need to have a supplementary health insurance plan for additional coverage.
Supplementary insurance plans are distinct from UHIP and are managed by one of the University’s student unions. The insurance company may also differ from UHIP. There is no overlap of coverage between UHIP and supplementary health insurance.
Good to know
Remember, UHIP is your primary health plan and is separate from your supplementary health plan!
Domestic and international, are automatically enrolled in a supplementary health plan.
Premiums for the plans will be charged automatically to your student account on ACORN.
