Permanent Residency (PR)

The CIE’s International Student Immigration Advisors cannot advise on permanent residency (PR) and cannot provide assistance with PR applications.

To learn more about PR, please refer to the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) website.

IRCC is now offering weekly Question & Answer (Q & A) sessions for international students in both English and French.

The resources below should be reviewed before attending a Question & Answer session.

Students who would like to get professional immigration support are encouraged to seek the services of a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) or an immigration lawyer who is licensed to practice law by the Law Society of Ontario (or another provincial/territorial law society in Canada).

Students can also contact Downtown Legal Services, the Faculty of Law’s community legal clinic. Their staff and students offer free legal assistance to University of Toronto students.
